Shreenath Motors is right here in Katraj, mostly dealing with whatever cars pull into the yard that day. It’s usually oily and there’s always a bit of noise from the tools. We’ve got a few lifts and some tools that have seen better days, but they still work fine for what we need. People around here know where we are because of the sign that’s slightly crooked. We spend a lot of time under hoods or checking tires. It’s not the kind of place with a waiting room and free snacks. Usually, you just stand around and talk to the mechanic while he’s working on your engine. The traffic in Katraj can be a mess, so we end up hearing a lot of horns while we're trying to figure out a rattle or a leak. Some days are slower than others, which gives us time to clean up the floor or organize the spare parts. We don't have a big team, just a handful of us who know our way around a wrench. We’ve seen all sorts of vehicles come through, some in good shape and others that probably should’ve been scrapped years ago. We just take them as they come and try to get the job done so we can go home. It’s honest work and it keeps our hands dirty. The floor gets pretty slick when it rains, so we have to be careful not to slip while carrying heavy parts.
