The shop is right in Pimpri at the A M I Bazar, specifically near Baji Prabhu Chowk. If you know that area, you know it is always crowded and there is a lot of honking and movement. We are right in the middle of it. Our floors are usually a bit greasy because that is the nature of working with automobiles. We have tools hanging on the walls and spare parts tucked into every available corner. It’s a loud place, with the sound of engines and tools clanking all day long. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with air conditioning. Usually, people just stand around the shop or sit on a plastic chair while we look at their vehicles. The sun can get really hot coming into the front of the shop, but we have a couple of old fans that move the air around. It is a lot of manual labor, getting under cars and working with heavy metal parts. Our hands are rarely clean, but that’s fine. We have a routine down for the most part. Morning starts with cleaning the front and then jumping straight into whatever repair is waiting for us. Baji Prabhu Chowk is a landmark that everyone knows, so it’s easy to tell people where we are. We just keep our heads down and get the work done, one vehicle at a time, until it’s time to pull the shutter down for the night. Dealing with bikes and cars in Pimpri is just what we do every day.
