Shree Ram Varieties & Stores

You can find us over at 13 Nanpura in the area that people sometimes call Surat and sometimes Hadapsar depending on who you ask. Shree Ram Varieties & Stores is a busy little place. We have bins full of different household items and shelves that go all the way to the back of the building. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, especially when we get a new shipment of plastic goods or cleaning supplies. I usually start the day by sweeping the dust away from the entrance, though it always seems to find its way back in by noon. We don't have a lot of space for a break, so we usually just eat our lunch sitting on a crate in the back. The customers are mostly locals who have been coming to us for years. They know where we keep the big bags of detergent and where the snacks are hidden. We try to keep the prices fair because we know everyone around here is just trying to get by. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and climbing the ladder to reach the top shelves. The ceiling fan wobbles a little when it's on the highest setting, but it keeps the air moving. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just running a store that people can depend on when they run out of something at home. Every day is pretty much the same, and we like it that way.
