Our group is based on Velu Road at Debare Wasti. We call it Shree Dattaraj Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited, but to most people around here, we are just the local farmers who decided to team up. We are at House No. 20, which is where we handle all the paperwork and planning. Farming alone can be a very lonely and expensive business. You have to buy everything yourself and then hope that someone will buy your produce for a fair price. Usually, that doesn't happen. So, we started this company to give ourselves a better chance. We aren't some big city corporation. We are the same people you see out in the fields every morning. We talk about the soil, the water, and what we’re going to grow next. It’s not always a smooth process. Sometimes we disagree on what to do, but we always figure it out. We don't use any fancy language or try to sound more important than we are. We just want to work hard and get a fair price for what we grow. Being at Debare Wasti makes it easy for the local guys to drop by and see what’s going on. We are just trying to make the farming life a little more sustainable for everyone involved in our little group. It’s about looking out for each other on Velu Road.
