Shlokprarthana Rural Farmers Producer Company Limited

We operate out of Datta Babasaheb Kharabe’s house, number 131, in Mangrul. It’s a small village in the Mantha area. Shlokprarthana Rural Farmers Producer Company Limited is the name we put on the papers, but to the folks around here, we’re just the local farmers getting together. Farming in this part of the country has its ups and downs, so we thought it made sense to form this group. We handle everything from the house mostly. It's where we keep the books and talk about which crops are doing well. It’s not some big polished operation. There’s usually dust on the boots and plenty of talk about the rain or the lack of it. We all know each other from the fields. The idea was to stop getting pushed around by middle-men and actually see some profit from the hard work we do in the sun. Some days are better than others. We deal with whatever comes up, whether it’s a pest problem or finding enough hands for the harvest. Being in Mangrul keeps us right in the middle of our community. We aren't fancy people. We just want to make sure our farms stay viable for the next generation. It takes a lot of effort to keep things moving, but doing it together makes it a bit easier to handle the stress that comes with this kind of life in the rural stretches. We just keep at it every day.
