You can find us at the Mahabare Complex, right by the CSN St Stand in Junnar. Being Shivswami Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited means we are a group of women from around this part of Pune trying to work together on the farming side of things. Our office is in a pretty busy area because of the bus stand nearby, so there is always noise and people moving about. It’s convenient for the members who come in from the villages because they can just hop off the bus and walk over to the complex. We handle a lot of the day-to-day coordination right here in this office. Sometimes it feels like we are constantly juggling schedules, especially during harvest time when everything happens at once. It’s a basic setup we have, nothing too special to look at, but it serves us well for our meetings. We talk about the crops, the prices, and what needs to be bought for the next season. Working in Junnar keeps us close to the fields, which is where we need to be. There are quite a few of us involved now, and we try to keep everyone updated on what the company is doing. It’s a lot of manual work and record-keeping, mostly done on old desks with plenty of tea being drank throughout the day. We are just local women making a go of it in the agriculture business here in Maharashtra.
