Shetisamarth Shetkari Producer Company is based in Shivarai, which is a village in the Kannad taluka. We use the place belonging to Shri Smt Mainabai Ramhari as our central point. We’re a bunch of farmers from around the area who decided that we needed to stick together. In Shivarai, most people spend their lives in the fields, and we’re no different. We grow what the land allows, and sometimes that's a struggle. We don't have fancy degrees or big-city offices. Our knowledge comes from years of working in the dirt and watching the sky for rain. We started this group because it felt like the right way to handle our business without being taken advantage of. When you’re just one farmer, it’s hard to get anyone to listen to you. But as a group, we have a bit more of a voice. We meet up to talk about seeds, fertilizers, and where to sell our harvest. Sometimes the meetings are short because we have to get back to the fields. It’s a practical way of living. We aren't looking for fame, just a way to make sure our hard work pays the bills and keeps the village going. It’s just how things are for us here, working the land day in and day out. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we wouldn't know what else to do if we weren't farming.
