Shantilalgi Shaha Kajuwala is our family business, and you can find us at 189/A on the Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway, near the Ganesh Peth Gota Cross Road. As the name suggests, we deal a lot in cashews and other nuts. The shop is right where the traffic is heavy, so we get a lot of travelers stopping by on their way out of the city. It’s a simple place with bags of nuts stacked up high. We spend a lot of time sorting through the stock to make sure everything is okay. It’s not a polished showroom. The floor is concrete and the lights are a bit dim, but we have what people are looking for. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It's mostly just family members and a couple of helpers working here. We’ve seen the highway change so much over the years, with new buildings going up everywhere. But we’ve stayed right here. Sometimes the heat gets to be a bit much in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running full blast. We don't do much advertising; we just rely on people seeing our sign as they drive past. It’s a busy life, especially during the festival seasons when everyone wants nuts for their homes. We just keep our heads down and do the work. If you're on the highway, you'll see us there, probably packing up another bag for someone.
