Shambhavi Plastics

Shambhavi Plastics is located right on the Fatima Nagar Main Road at number 152. It’s a very busy street, so there’s always the sound of horns and traffic outside our door. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of the plastic molding machines. We have a lot of stock piled up towards the back because the space is a bit narrow. We make various plastic items, mostly things people use in their homes or for storage. The floor is usually covered in little bits of plastic pellets, no matter how much we sweep. We have a small storefront at the front and the production happens right behind it. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My cousin helps with the orders and I mostly look after the machines. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy showroom. What you see is what you get. The machines are old but we keep them well-oiled and running. Sometimes the heat from the extruders makes the shop quite warm, especially during the summer months. We just open the back door to get a breeze going. People from the neighborhood often stop in to see what we’ve got. We’ve been on this road for quite a few years now and we’ve seen the shops around us change many times. We just keep making our plastic goods and trying to stay busy throughout the week. It’s not fancy, but it’s our living and we like it.
