Shalmali Plastic Product

Shalmali Plastic Product is over on Gotri Road in the Bhosari area of Vadodara, at number 30. It’s more of a workspace than a fancy office. We have machines running and the smell of plastic is pretty much always in the air. We make different kinds of plastic items, mostly things that other businesses use. Our days are filled with checking the molds and making sure the machines don't overheat. It’s a bit noisy, and we usually have to wear earplugs when the production is in full swing. The Gotri Road area has a lot of similar setups, so there are always trucks moving in and out with raw materials or finished goods. We aren't really set up for individual shoppers to walk in and buy one thing. We deal with larger batches mostly. The floor is usually covered with scraps that we have to sweep up. It’s hard work, especially in the summer when the heat from the machines and the Vadodara sun makes the whole place feel like an oven. We keep a big water cooler in the corner that gets a lot of use. We have a small office tucked in the corner where we keep the main files, but most of the time we’re out on the floor. The sound of the plastic pellets being fed into the hoppers is something you just get used to. Sometimes the color of a batch isn't right, and we have to spend time figuring it out.
