Shaikh Farmers Producer Company is located in Baijipura, which is a busy part of Aurangabad. Our office is on plot K-61. It’s a simple spot that we’ve had for a while now. The area is always humming with people and traffic. Inside our place, it’s mostly just shelves and a few chairs for when the farmers come by to talk. We deal with the crops that grow well in this part of Maharashtra. Aurangabad gets very hot in the summer, so we have a couple of fans that stay on all day. They make a lot of noise but they help. We aren't a big corporation with fancy uniforms. We wear what we’d wear to the field. Most of our work involves coordinating between the growers and the buyers. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure the weights are right. Sometimes we stay late to finish the logs when the harvest is in full swing. We don't have a polished way of doing things. We just try to be honest and get the job done. If there’s a problem, we sit down and figure it out together. It’s a small team of us, mostly family and neighbors. We know the history of the land around here. It’s a tough business, but we’ve been at it long enough to know what to expect. We just keep our heads down and work.
