You can find us at number 50 in the Timber Market, right across from the Ladkat Petrol Pump in Bhavani Peth. This whole area is dedicated to wood and construction materials, so it’s always noisy with the sound of saws and trucks. Our shop has been around this part of Pune for a long time. We deal with timber and related materials, so there is always sawdust on the floor no matter how much we sweep. It’s just part of the job. The petrol pump across the street is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We spend a lot of the day talking to contractors and people looking to build something. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy displays. It’s more about stacks of wood and logs waiting to be moved. We have to be careful with the storage so things don't get damp during the monsoon. The work is physical and we usually go home pretty tired. Bhavani Peth has a lot of history with this kind of trade, and we are just one part of it. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just sell wood and try to get the orders right. Sometimes the market gets very crowded and it’s hard for vehicles to move, but we manage somehow. It’s a tough business, but it is what we have known for years.
