Sayali Lifters

We run Sayali Lifters over on Chandavarkar Lane in Pimpri. It’s a bit of a cramped spot at 35 / 5, but we make it work with the gear we have. We’ve got some cranes and lifting equipment that we send out to different sites. It’s heavy work, and the yard gets pretty muddy when it rains. My brother and I took over the place and we mostly spend our time maintaining the hydraulics and making sure the cables aren't fraying. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean. There’s always grease on someone’s hands. We get calls from construction guys or people moving big machinery who can't lift it themselves. Sometimes the traffic in the lane makes it hard to get the big rigs out, so we have to start really early in the morning. It's a lot of waiting for the phone to ring and then rushing to get a job done before the sun goes down. We don't have a fancy office or a secretary. Usually, we just answer the mobile while we're under a truck. We’ve been in Pimpri for a long time now. The equipment is older, but it’s sturdy and gets the job done. We just try to keep things moving and hope the weather stays clear so we can work. It’s a simple business, really, just lifting things from one place to another. We usually work until the sun goes down and then clean up.
