Our address is 521, at Ramdas Kisan Bolone’s house in Gortha. Gortha is a small place in the Amgaon Tahsil of Gondia district. Being way out here near the border of the state, things move at a different pace. This is a Mahila company, so it is the local women who are really the backbone of what we are doing. We don't have a professional office setup; we just work from the village. In Gondia, we see a lot of different crops, and we spend our time trying to organize how to sell them properly. Ramdas’s house is where we keep the records and where the meetings happen. It can get a bit crowded when everyone shows up at once, but we manage. We aren't interested in sounding like a big corporation from Mumbai. We are just farmers and the wives of farmers trying to make a little more for our hard work. Most of our conversations are about the weather, the water, and the cost of transport. It is simple, everyday stuff. We have our hands in the dirt and our eyes on the fields. It is a bit disorganized at times, and we don't have all the answers, but we are working on it together. That is just how life is in a village like Gortha.
