Sarjana Farmer Producer Company Limited is out in Ambegavan, which is part of Junnar in the Pune district. We operate from the place of Shree Shankar Nana Gaikar at number 466. Junnar is a beautiful area but farming here has its own set of challenges with the terrain and the weather. Our office is pretty modest, just a spot where we can keep our documents safe and have a place for members to sit down. We don't go in for fancy decorations or expensive furniture. The focus is always on the crops and the people who grow them. You’ll usually find someone here checking over some forms or talking on the phone with a supplier. We aren't trying to be a big multinational corporation. We are just a local group trying to help our village get better results from the land. Sometimes the rains make the roads to Ambegavan a bit tricky, but we still manage to get things done. We don't have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a list of things that need to be finished by the end of the week. It’s a very grounded way of doing business. We talk to each other in plain English or the local language and don't worry about sounding professional. As long as the work is correct and the farmers are okay, we feel like we've done our job for the day.
