Sarang Hair Dresser

Sarang Hair Dresser is located at Shop No 17 in the Bhaji Mandai Mini Market. It is on Gulawni Maharaj Road in Erandwane, right opposite Gandhi Lawns. Being in the mini market means it is always lively. You can hear the vegetable sellers shouting and the motorbikes zooming past all day. The shop itself is quite small. We have got the standard setup with big mirrors, three chairs, and a bench for people to wait. It gets hot in the afternoons, so the fan is always on full speed. Most of our regulars are people who live in the nearby societies or guys working at the market. They come in for a quick trim or a shave after they finish their shopping. We have been here for years, and the walls are a bit stained from the old smoke and the rain. We do not have any of that fancy spa stuff. It is just hair cutting and the occasional head massage with some oil. I have known some of these customers since they were boys. Now they bring their own families. It is a nice community feeling. We open up early, around the same time the market starts getting busy. By evening, the place is usually full of people chatting while they wait their turn. It is not a glossy place you see in magazines, but it is our place. We just keep the scissors sharp and the combs clean.
