Sant Mahipati Maharaj Farmer Producer

Our group, Sant Mahipati Maharaj Farmer Producer, is based out of Chinchale in Rahuri. Specifically, we run things from Babasaheb Dhakane’s place at Gut No. 482. It isn't a fancy office, just a spot where we gather to talk about the crops. Being in Rahuri, we deal with the usual stuff farmers here face. We named the company after Sant Mahipati Maharaj because he is important to our culture here. We are just a bunch of local guys trying to make the business side of farming a bit easier. Most of the time, we are busy with the actual dirt and plants, so the paperwork gets a bit messy. It’s not easy running a company while also being in the fields all day. We meet up in the evenings to see what everyone needs. Sometimes it is fertilizer, other times it is just a bit of advice on a sick cow or a failing crop. We don't use big words or have a grand plan. We just want to get through the season and hope the prices stay fair. It’s quiet here in Chinchale most days, except for the sound of tractors. We do our own loading and unloading. There are no suits here. If you come by, you'll probably find us covered in dust. That is just the way it goes. We started this because doing it alone was getting too hard for most of us to manage and we needed to lean on each other to keep the farms going.
