Our place is on the Mumbai-Pune Road in Dapodi. It’s a long stretch of road that everyone around here knows. Sandvik Asia Pvt Ltd. has its spot right there, and the Sandvik Coromant sign is usually the first thing people see. The traffic on the main road is constant, so there is always a low hum of engines in the background. It’s a big site compared to some of the smaller shops nearby. We spend our days walking between the different sections. It takes a while to get from one end to the other. In Dapodi, the weather can get pretty sticky, so we try to do the heavy lifting early. We have a lot of history on this road. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know how the machines sound when they are running perfectly. We don't spend much time on fancy presentations. Most of our time is spent on the floor or in the small office nooks checking the specs. It’s a practical environment. We have our routines, like the tea break at ten and the shift change in the afternoon. People know where we are. If you’re driving down from Pune, you can’t miss us. It’s a solid building that has seen a lot of work over the years, and we just keep it going one day at a time. The gate security is friendly enough and they recognize our cars when we pull in every morning.
