Samarath Retail Shop

Our small shop is located at 18/6 in the Dhanakawadi area. It is a simple retail store where we sell everyday items. We don’t have a big flashy sign, just the name Samarath Retail Shop above the door. Most of our customers are people who live in the buildings right around us. They come in for bread, milk, or maybe some washing powder. We know who likes what brand and who usually comes in at what time of the day. The shop is small, so we have to use every bit of wall space for shelves. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped, especially when more than three people are inside at once. We spend our mornings checking what sold the day before and writing down what we need to buy from the wholesaler. It is not a glamorous job, but it keeps us connected to the neighborhood. We don’t have a website or any social media pages. We just open the shutters early in the morning and stay until the last few people finish their evening errands. There is a small stool behind the counter where I sit when things are quiet, watching the traffic go by on the street outside. It’s a quiet life, mostly just ringing up sales and chatting with the neighbors about the weather or the local news. We just try to keep the basics in stock so no one leaves empty-handed.
