Sakhi Beauty Salon sits right on the stretch from Tilak Road heading toward Perugate Road. If you know Sadashiv Peth in Pune, you know how these narrow streets get. Our place is Shop No 3 at 1523, and being next to Durga Non Veg means there is always some smell of food drifting over, especially around lunchtime. It’s a simple spot. We open up the shutters every morning and start by tidying up the hair stations and making sure the mirrors are clear. Most of the people who come in are locals living right around the corner. They stop by for a quick trim or to get their eyebrows done while they are out running errands. It’s not a big corporate setup. Just a few chairs, some basic equipment, and the sound of the fan overhead. On busy days, the chairs are full and there’s a bit of chatter about what’s happening in the neighborhood. We don’t have fancy marketing or anything like that. People just know where we are. Sometimes the traffic outside gets a bit loud with the bikes zooming by toward the main road, but inside it’s just the usual work. We spend a lot of time just keeping things organized and talking to the regulars who have been coming here for years. It’s a practical space where things get done without any extra fuss or unnecessary talk.
