Sakharwahi Farmer Producer Company Limited is located right in the middle of Sakharwahi village. Shri Namdeo Babanrao Dahule is the main point of contact for us. Most of the people involved here have been farming their whole lives. We started this company because we realized that doing things alone as small farmers was getting harder every year. By joining together, we can share tools and ideas and maybe get a better handle on the selling side of things. The village of Sakharwahi is a small place where news travels fast and everyone knows what’s happening in the next field over. We don’t have a fancy website or a big board of directors. It’s just local folks sitting around and deciding what’s best for the current crop cycle. Our office is basic, just a room with some chairs and a desk for the paperwork. Dealing with the government and the banks can be a headache, but having the company makes it a bit more official. We spend our days out in the sun and our evenings discussing how to improve the harvest. It’s a lot of trial and error. Some years are good and some are tough, but that’s the nature of farming. We are just trying to build something that lasts for our kids and keeps our village economy moving along properly without too much outside interference.
