Sairaj Plastic is tucked away in Kasba Peth at number 1255. If you know the Peth areas, you know how narrow the lanes can get, especially when the festivals are happening. Our shop is filled with all kinds of plastic items, from buckets to crates and small household things. They are stacked everywhere, sometimes blocking the path to the back room. We spend a lot of time rearranging the inventory so people can actually see what’s available. It is a bit dusty because of all the construction nearby, so we have to wipe things down pretty often. The light inside 1255 isn't great, but we have a few bright bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Most of our customers are folks from the neighborhood who have been coming here for years. We know their names and what they usually need. It is a lot of lifting and carrying, which keeps us moving. During the rainy season, we have to move everything away from the front door so the splashes don't get the stock wet. There is always a stray cat that hangs around near the entrance, and we give it a bit of milk now and then. It is a modest place, but it keeps us busy from morning until the shops shut for the night. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just open the doors.
