Saidatta Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our little office is located at Rangnath T Chavan’s place in Lohata, which is part of Kalamb. Saidatta Farmers Producer Company Limited is really just a bunch of us from the post Lohata area trying to work together. If you look for us, you’ll just see a regular house where we gather to talk about the farming season. Rangnath is usually the one keeping track of who brought what and where the seeds are going. We have been farming these lands for a long time, so we know the soil well, but the business side of things is still a bit new to us. We spend a lot of time just sitting on the porch discussing the water levels or why the price of cotton is going up or down. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s ours. We started this company because we felt like we were getting lost when we tried to sell things on our own. Now, at least we have a name and a place to meet. The village is quiet most of the time, except during harvest when everyone is moving fast. We don't have any big slogans or anything like that. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields doesn't go to waste. Sometimes we have meetings that go on too long because everyone wants to have their say. It’s a bit messy but that’s how a real community works in a place like Lohata.
