Sai Baba Engineering

Sai Baba Engineering is located at Shop No.12 inside the Shahaji Waghere Compound, specifically at S.No. 322/2. It’s a typical engineering shed where there is always a bit of grease on the floor and the smell of burnt metal in the air. We have a couple of lathes and some welding equipment that we use for whatever repairs come through the door. It isn't the cleanest place in the world, as there are metal shavings in the corners and oily rags sitting on the workbenches. Most of the time, I am hunched over a part trying to get the threading just right or fixing a bracket that snapped off some machine. The compound is full of other small businesses, so there is always a lot of shouting and the sound of engines running nearby. We don't have fancy uniforms, just old clothes that we don't mind getting stained with sparks and lubricant. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. We keep a small radio on a shelf that plays local music, but you can barely hear it over the grinding sounds. It is just a place for hard work where we fix things that are broken and try to make parts that actually last. It’s a bit gritty, but that’s just the nature of an engineering shop in a busy compound.
