Rukhmini Woman Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in Nawalnagar, Dhule. You can find us through Vijaykumar Nawal Patil’s place. We are a group of women who decided it was time to run our own farming business. Usually, the men handle the money and the big decisions, but we do so much of the work in the fields anyway, so we thought we should have our own company. It isn't always easy balancing the housework, the kids, and the farming chores, but we manage somehow. We talk while we work in the fields or when we are getting water for our homes. Our company is about us women standing on our own two feet. We deal with the crops, the seeds, and the buyers ourselves now. It was a bit scary at first, dealing with all the legal stuff and the bank people, but we are figuring it out together. We aren't polished businesswomen; we are farmers who know what it’s like to work under the hot Dhule sun. Some days our backs ache and the crops look thirsty, but we keep going because we have to. We want a better future for our children, and this is how we are making it happen. Our group is built on trust because we have lived in Nawalnagar all our lives. We don't need fancy slogans or missions, just good rain and a bit of luck with the harvest this year.
