Richas Beauty Parlour

You can find us at Shop No 3 in the Ganesh Market Building, right near Gangadham Chowk in Market Yard. Being in this area means it is always lively outside. We started this parlour because we saw a lot of women in the neighborhood needed a nearby place for basic things like threading and waxing without traveling too far. The shop isn't very big, but we’ve tried to make it comfortable. We have a few chairs and some curtains for privacy. Most days, it’s just a steady stream of ladies coming in after they finish their vegetable shopping. We talk about family, recipes, and whatever else is happening in Pune while we work. During wedding season or around Diwali, it gets really hectic. We end up staying open much later than usual because everyone wants their henna or facials done at the same time. We don’t use any of those super expensive international brands, just the regular stuff that works well for everyone. The lighting inside is a bit bright so we can see what we are doing, and there’s usually a faint smell of rose water and hair spray in the air. It’s a practical place for practical people. We don't have a receptionist, so if we are busy with a client, you might have to wait a minute for us to look up. It’s a local business run by local people who understand what the residents around Market Yard need. We just do our work.
