Rayat Lokkalyan Shetkari Producercompany Limited is based right here in Pune, specifically over at Murti on the Moralwadi Road. If you know the area, you probably know the house at number 356 where we keep our books and hold our meetings. We are just local farmers who realized that trying to sell everything on our own was getting harder every year. So, we got together and started this company to help each other out. It is not like we have some big corporate strategy. Most of our days are spent talking to neighbors or checking on the tractors. The road out here can get a bit dusty in the summer, but it is home. We handle whatever the season throws at us, whether it is vegetables or grains. Being on Moralwadi Road means we are close enough to the main parts of Pune but still out where the actual work happens. Sometimes things are a bit disorganized because we are usually out in the fields instead of sitting at a desk. We just try to keep things moving. We didn't really know much about running a company when we started, so we are learning as we go. There are a lot of forms to fill out and rules to follow, but having the group makes it feel less like a chore. We just wanted a way to make the farming life a bit more stable for the families around here.
