Ranakpur Novelty

You can find Ranakpur Novelty over at 6 Ashirwad Building. We are directly opposite Konark Puram in the Navrangpura area of Kondhwa Khurd. The building is one of those older ones that has seen a lot of seasons. We have a small storefront filled with all the usual novelty items you would expect to find in a neighborhood shop. It is mostly stuff like hair clips, small gifts, and some school supplies for the kids who live in the apartments nearby. The street outside is usually lined with parked scooters, so walking is probably easier than driving if you are coming to see us. We start the day by sweeping the front step and getting the lights turned on. It is a bit dark in the back of the shop, so we have to use extra lamps. Being across from Konark Puram means we see a lot of the same faces every single day. We know most of the people who walk by by name. It is a steady life, just sitting here and waiting for customers to pop in for a pen or a packet of stickers. We don't have a computer system or anything like that; we just write everything down in a big ledger book with a blue pen. The fan on the ceiling makes a lot of noise but it keeps us cool enough when the afternoon heat kicks in.
