The office is tucked away in Navi Peth, right off Bund Garden Road at number 8. It’s been our base for Ramesh Karmarkar Interior Decorators for a long time. People usually come in looking for help with their houses or offices, and we try to give them something practical. It’s not about those glossy magazines you see in shops; it’s more about what actually fits in a room without costing a fortune. The space here is filled with samples, bits of wood, and paint charts that have been piled up over the years. Bund Garden Road can get really loud during rush hour, so the mornings are usually the best time to get any real planning done. We spend a lot of our time out at sites, getting our hands dirty and making sure the guys are doing what they’re supposed to do. If you stop by the office and nobody is there, we’re probably just out checking on a project nearby. It’s a small team, mostly just a few of us who have worked together forever. We don't have a big reception or anyone to answer phones all day. Sometimes the tea stall down the street is where we end up having our meetings. It’s just how we’ve always operated in this neighborhood. We know the local suppliers and where to get the right materials when things get stuck. It’s honest work and we like it. We mostly stick to the local area for projects.
