Rajkamal Cutting Salon

Our shop, Rajkamal Cutting Salon, is situated at the Upper Bus Stop in Bibvewadi. We are right next to the Fast Photo Studio, which is a landmark most people in the area recognize. It’s a traditional kind of place where we focus on hair cutting and shaves. The shop isn't very big, but we make it work with the space we have. I’ve been working here in Pune for a long time, and the Bibvewadi area has changed a lot, but the shop stays pretty much the same. We have the old-style barber chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. You can hear the buses pulling up to the stop outside all day long. It brings a lot of foot traffic past our door. Most of our regulars are men from the neighborhood who have been coming here since they were young. We don't have any fancy signs or modern decor. It’s just the mirrors, the combs, and the scissors. I like the sound of the shop when it’s busy, with the clippers buzzing and people talking about their day. Sometimes we have a few people waiting on the bench outside if it gets too full inside. We just do the work and don't make a big deal out of it. It’s a honest living in a busy part of the city. Being near the photo studio helps people find us if they are new to the neighborhood.
