Rajendrabappu S Kumkar

I go by Rajendrabappu S Kumkar and you can usually find me at Mahatma Phule Market, near Rameshwar Chowk in Kharadi. My specific spot is 34 2. Being in a market area means you have to be ready for noise and lots of people. From early in the morning, the trucks are unloading and the vendors are setting up their stalls. It’s a lively place, though it can get a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it. I’ve been here at 34 2 for quite some time. The walls of my space are a bit stained and the floor is worn down from all the foot traffic. I don't mind it, though. It shows the place is being used. Kharadi has grown so much lately, but the market still feels like the old heart of the area. I spend my hours dealing with whatever comes my way, mostly talking to people and sorting through supplies. Rameshwar Chowk is a major landmark, so people never have trouble finding where I am. I keep a small fan going to deal with the heat, especially in the afternoons. It’s a gritty, real environment. There’s no fancy air conditioning or glass windows here. You're right there with the smells of the market and the voices of the crowd. It’s hard work, but it’s what I know. I’ve made a lot of friends among the other shopkeepers over the years. We all just try to get by.
