Raja Gift House

The shop has been here in Pimpri for quite a while now. Most people know the spot right across from Rupam Cinema in B Block. It’s a busy area and we spend a lot of time just keeping things tidy on the shelves. Sometimes the traffic outside gets loud, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of people looking through the rows of gifts. I remember when we first started, the street looked different, but Raja Gift House stayed pretty much the same. We have a lot of items packed into the glass cases and on the walls. It’s not a huge place, but there is always something to move around or dust. In the mornings, I open the shutters and sweep the front bit of the pavement. People stop by on their way to work or when they are going to see a movie. We don’t really do fancy things here. It is just a shop where you can find cards or small toys and things for birthdays. Sometimes people ask for things we don’t have, so I write it down in a notebook to remember for next time. It’s a bit cramped when it gets busy, especially on weekends. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the stock piles up in the corners. It is just how it goes when you have been in one place for years. The light coming through the front door shows all the little items we’ve gathered over the months.
