Raghuranjan Farmers Producer Company

Our group is based over in Shindkheda, right near the hospital where Hemant Raghunath Jadhav stays. It is a group of us farmers who decided to pool things together because doing everything alone was getting too difficult these days. We handle a lot of different crops depending on what the season brings in. The office is really just a room where we sit down and figure out who is bringing what and where it needs to go next. Sometimes it gets crowded when everyone shows up at once after the morning chores. Shindkheda is a small enough place that everyone kind of knows what we are doing. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just standing outside the building talking about the rain and the current market prices. It is not a very formal setup. We have to keep track of a lot of small details for the members. It gets messy sometimes with the accounts and the ledgers, but we get through it eventually. We do not have any big slogans. We just want to make sure the produce from our fields gets sold for a fair price so everyone can keep their farms going for another year. The location by the hospital makes it easy for people to find us when they come into town from the outlying fields. It is practical for us. Some days are slow and we just sit around, and other days it feels like we cannot keep up with the trucks.
