The shop is over in Koregaon Park, number 333 on Lane No 6. It’s a bit different from the fancy cafes and restaurants around here. We have bins full of wires, small components, and tools scattered all over the place. It’s the kind of shop where you have to look closely to find what you need because there’s so much packed into the space. I spend a lot of time hunched over the workbench in the back with a soldering iron. The smell of melting lead and plastic is pretty constant here. People come in with broken things or looking for a specific fuse that nobody else carries. Sometimes I can’t find it right away, so they have to wait while I move a few boxes around. The floor is concrete and has some stains from old projects. We have a big window in the front, but the shelves are so full of displays that not much light gets through to the back. It’s usually quiet, except for the sound of the traffic from the lane and the occasional beep from a testing meter. I’ve been working with these parts for a long time, so my fingers are a bit calloused. We don't have a fancy sign or anything, just the name on the door. It’s a practical place for people who like to fix things or build things themselves. We just stay here and keep the drawers organized as best as we can.
