Down here on Nemkar Marg in Talwade, things stay pretty busy with all the industrial work nearby. We are located right at Garas Road 776, which is easy enough to find if you know the area. Our shop is full of tools, from basic wrenches and hammers to things that are a bit more specific for the local workshops. It’s usually a bit dusty because of all the metal and wood being moved around. We don’t have a fancy display or anything like that. Mostly, it is just boxes stacked up and tools hanging where we can find them quickly when someone comes in needing a specific size bolt or a new drill bit. The floor is concrete and shows the wear from years of heavy items being dragged across it. My hands are usually a bit greasy by lunch time. We get a lot of workers coming in early in the morning before their shifts start. They know what they need, and we try to have it ready on the shelf. It’s a straightforward business. We talk about the weather or the traffic on the main road while we look through the inventory. Sometimes the supply trucks take forever to navigate the narrow turns around here, which can be a bit of a headache. But that’s just part of being in this location. We stay open until the sun goes down and then lock up the shutters.
