R World Family Saloon

Our shop is right on DP Road in Kothrud, very close to the Paranjape School. It is a busy area, especially when the school lets out and all the parents are driving around in their cars. We have two shops joined together, Shop 1 and 2, so there is a bit more room than some of the other places around here. Being a family saloon means we see everyone. We get the kids from the school who need a trim before their exams, and we get the older folks who have lived in Kothrud for decades. My brother and I run the place mostly. We have those big comfortable chairs and plenty of clean towels ready. It’s not a fancy spa, just a place where you can get your hair done. Sometimes it’s noisy because of the traffic outside and the kids talking, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many people coming in and out, there is always something to clean up. We have been here for a while now and the regulars just walk in and sit down. They don’t even have to tell us what they want anymore. It’s nice having that kind of connection with the neighborhood. We keep the lights bright and the scissors sharp. It’s just honest work for the people living nearby who need a haircut. (245 words)
