The workshop is located in Chakan, which everyone knows is the heart of the industrial area around Pune. We are specifically at Komandal King 624 9. It’s a busy spot. There is always the sound of trucks moving and metal clanging from the other units nearby. Our floor is usually a bit greasy because that’s the nature of mechanical work. We spend most of the morning getting the machines warmed up and checking the schedules for the day. There’s a lot of oil and dust around, but that is just part of the job. It gets loud when the heavy cutters are running, so you have to shout a bit to be heard. We don't have a big corporate office; just a small corner with a desk and some old chairs where we sit for lunch. Most of the time is spent on the floor, measuring parts and making sure the dimensions are what they should be. Chakan can get very dusty in the summer, so we keep the fans blowing all day just to stay sane. It's hard work, and our hands are usually stained by the end of the shift. We’ve seen the area grow a lot over the years. More buildings are going up every month. We just keep our heads down and get the metalwork done. It’s a straightforward business with no frills or extras. We just do the manufacturing and try to keep things moving.
