Purandar Laxmi Shetkari Mahila Producer Company Limited

This is a group for the women farmers here in Zendewadi. We call it Purandar Laxmi Shetkari Mahila Producer Company Limited. Our base is at House No 235. It’s in the Purandar taluka, and most of us live right nearby. We started this because we wanted the women to have more of a say in how the farming business is run. Usually, the men handle the money, but we decided to change that. We grow mostly what does well in this soil. It’s a lot of hard work in the sun. We don't have a big office with computers and desks. We usually just meet at the house and sit on the floor or on some benches. We talk about the crops and how to get them to the market in the city. It’s not a fancy life. Our hands are always dirty from the fields. We don't have a lot of money for big advertisements. Most people hear about us through word of mouth. We support each other when someone is sick or when the harvest is small. It’s a community. We’re just trying to make things a little better for our families and our kids. Zendewadi is a small place, but we have big hearts. We work together because it’s the only way to get ahead. It’s honest and simple. We like it that way.
