Vinay Chambers on Senapati Bapat Road is where we spend our days. It’s a busy area, so there is always the sound of traffic coming through the windows. We have a studio space here where we set up our lights and backdrops. It isn't always perfectly tidy; there are cables on the floor and reflectors leaning against the walls. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and trying to get the lighting just right. It’s funny how much work goes into a single picture. We aren't the type of people who wear suits or act like we are in a boardroom. Usually, we are just in jeans, moving heavy equipment around. Some days we are out on location, but most of the time you can find us here at the studio. We have a little kettle in the corner for making coffee because the days can get pretty long. People come in for all sorts of shoots, and we just try to make them feel comfortable so they don't look stiff. The camera gear is expensive and we have to be careful with it, but we don't treat the place like a museum. It's a workspace. We've been on SB Road for years and we like the energy of the neighborhood. It’s just us, some cameras, and a lot of patience. Some days the shots come easy and other days we have to work much harder.
