Prithvi Classes

Down here in Budhwar Peth, Madhavanagar, we run Prithvi Classes. It is not a huge school or anything like that, just a few rooms where students come to get through their subjects. We started it because kids in the neighborhood needed a place to study that was not their crowded living rooms. We have got benches that have seen better days and whiteboards that always seem to have a ghost of the last lesson on them. During exam season, this place is packed. You can hear the fans humming and the kids scribbling away. We are not doing anything revolutionary here. We just go over the chapters, solve the math problems, and try to make sense of the science books. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows and keep going. The parents come by to check on progress, and we give them the honest truth about how their kids are doing. It is a lot of repetition and practice. We have seen many batches pass through these doors over the years. Some students are fast, some take their time, but we try to help whoever walks in. It is a local spot, nothing fancy. We just focus on the books and making sure the kids actually understand what they are reading before they go home for dinner. It is a long day for everyone, but we like the routine of it.
