Prince Hair Dressers

We’ve been here at Shankar Rukmini Apartment for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot in Kondhwa Khurd, especially being so close to the Sanmitra Bank and that last bus stop where everyone gathers. The shop is just a regular place where people from the neighborhood come to get their hair sorted out. It gets pretty crowded on weekends, which is just how it goes in this part of Pune. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. It’s nothing fancy, just a few chairs and mirrors. Most of our regulars have been coming here since they were kids. Sometimes we run out of tea or the electricity cuts off for a bit, but we just keep going. It’s a simple routine. We open up early and stay until the last customer is done. You can see the bus stop from our door, so we watch the world go by all day. People stop in just to say hello even if they don't need a haircut. That's the way it is here. We try to keep things clean but it's hard with so much foot traffic coming in from the main road. The fans are always humming. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the shop name on the glass. If you know the area, you know where to find us. It’s just us doing what we know how to do day in and day out. We like the neighborhood vibe here and wouldn't want to be anywhere else really. It's home.
