Prayag Steel & Novelties

We are located at 10 Shivratan Co Operative Housing Society, which is right across from Suhag Mangal Karyalaya. Being near the Market Yard in Bibwewadi means things are always moving around us. Prayag Steel & Novelties is a bit of an unusual mix, having both metal goods and smaller gift items in one place. The shop floor is split between the heavier steel products and the lighter novelty shelves. It makes for an interesting look when you walk in. The society building is fairly quiet compared to the main road, though when there's a wedding or an event at Suhag Mangal Karyalaya, the whole street fills up with cars and music. We usually keep the front doors open to let some air in, even if it gets a bit dusty from the market traffic nearby. There’s a small stool by the counter where we sit when things are slow, usually checking the inventory lists. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the steel pipes get in the way of the display cases. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and we’ve been in this Bibwewadi spot for a long time now. We know most of the neighbors and the people who work in the market. It’s a steady rhythm of unloading trucks and helping people find specific bits of hardware or small trinkets they need for their homes. Every now and then, the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside until it comes back.
