Prathibha International School

Living and working near the Mumbai Pune Road in Chinchwad East means dealing with a lot of noise. Prathibha International School is tucked away in Plot No 3, Block No D Iii, right in the middle of all that activity. The area is very industrial and busy, so there is always a sense of movement around us. We have been here for a while now. The building is solid, though the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint if we ever got the time. Inside, the hallways are usually full of bags and water bottles that kids just drop wherever they feel like it. We spend quite a bit of our mornings just directing traffic and making sure the buses get into the lot without hitting anything. Chinchwad is a crowded place, so we make do with the space we have. It is not like those schools in movies with huge rolling hills and quiet fields. It is a city school through and through. We have some fans that rattle a bit when they are on high speed and the bell has a very sharp ring that you get used to after a week. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know each other’s coffee habits. It is just a place where we try to keep things organized enough so that some learning actually happens between the chaos of lunch breaks and bus duty. It is loud, but it is our home.
