Prakash Leather Work

We are located at Shanti Niketan in the Vadgaon Building, right in the middle of the Jigani Industrial Area in Nanded. Prakash Leather Work is a small setup where we spend our days cutting and stitching. Being in an industrial area means there is always the sound of machinery and trucks in the background. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we are used to it by now. The air usually smells like raw hide and old oil from the sewing machines we use. We handle all sorts of leather repairs and custom jobs that people bring in from all over. Some of the tools we use have been around for years and they still work better than the new stuff you find today. We don't have a showroom with bright lights or fancy carpets. Most people find us because they heard about us from someone else in Nanded who had a bag fixed here. The workbench is always cluttered with scraps of material and thread, but I know exactly where everything is kept. It’s a bit of a messy process, getting leather to look right, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep our heads down and focus on the task at hand. It’s hard work on the hands, but it’s satisfying to see a finished piece at the end of the day. We’ve been here for a long time.
