Prakash Hair Dressers

Prakash Hair Dressers is situated on Motikhana Road in the Camp area. It is an old part of Pune with a lot of history in the streets. We are located near the Surana Music Centre, which is a place many people in the city know well. Often, you can hear a bit of music drifting over from that direction while we are working. The shop has been around for quite some time. We have old wooden cabinets and mirrors that have seen many years of service. It is a simple setup. We do not have those modern reclining chairs you see in the malls. Ours are more traditional. The floor is made of old tile that we sweep about twenty times a day. Being in Camp means we get a real mix of people. We have elderly men who have been coming here for decades and younger guys who just moved to the neighborhood. We know most of our customers by their first names. We do not use any fancy booking systems or websites. People just walk in, find a seat, and wait their turn. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait on Sunday mornings, but nobody seems to mind much. They just read the newspaper or talk about the local news. We keep the shop open until the sun goes down and then we lock up the heavy metal shutters. It is hard work on the feet, but we like being part of this street.
