Popular Stationers

Our shop is tucked into Konark Arcade, number 14 to be exact. Being on the Chhani Gorva Road near the Fulwadi Jakat Naka means there is always something happening outside. Popular Stationers is what we call it, though most people just know us as the place to get their school supplies or office files. Vadodara can get pretty hot, so the shade of the arcade is nice during the middle of the day. We have stacks of notebooks that reach up almost to the ceiling. Finding a specific pen for a customer sometimes feels like a bit of a hunt, but we usually know where everything is. The Viman Nagar area is quite active, so we get a lot of office workers coming through. I spend a lot of time checking the inventory and making sure we haven't run out of the basics like staplers or glue. The floor is made of old tile that's seen a lot of feet over the years. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in town, just a reliable one where you can get what you need for your desk. Sometimes the traffic at the Jakat Naka gets so backed up you can hear the horns all the way inside, but you get used to it. It’s a decent way to spend the day, talking to the regulars and making sure the shop looks halfway decent for the next morning.
