Setting up the shop on D P Road every morning takes a bit of time. We are located in Prasad Chember and it’s a spot that sees a lot of traffic heading towards Sinhagad Road. I usually start by putting out the display stands for the pens and notebooks. Pooja Stationery & Gift Articles isn’t a massive showroom, but it has what most students and office folks need around here. The shelves are mostly full of paper, folders, and some gift items for kids. It gets a bit dusty because of the main road, so wiping down the counters is a never-ending job. We have been here long enough that we know many of the faces passing by. Some people just pop in for a quick refill for their pen or a birthday card. The space inside is narrow, so we have to be careful how we stack the boxes. Sometimes the delivery guys come at the same time and then it’s a bit of a scramble to get everything stored away. I like the routine of it. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us making sure things are where they belong. It’s a practical place. People come in, find what they need, and go about their day. We don’t use any fancy computer systems for everything, just the usual way of doing things. The sun hits the front window in the afternoon and we just keep moving along until it is time to close.
