We set up Pickseti Farmer Producer Company Limited over in Bharadi, which is near Sillod. Our spot is at House No. 1003, right on the Kannad Road. It’s pretty easy to find because we are close to the S.B. School. Most of the folks around here know the school, so they just use that as a landmark. Aurangabad is the main district we fall under. We deal with the local crops and help the farmers around Sillod get their stuff to the market. It’s a pretty basic operation. We don't have fancy furniture or air conditioning. It’s just a place to store some bags and keep our ledgers. The road can get pretty noisy with all the trucks going to Kannad, but it’s a good location for moving goods. A few of us sit there during the day to answer questions or help someone fill out a form. Farming in this part of Aurangabad can be tricky because the water isn't always reliable. We spend a lot of time talking about irrigation and how to get the most out of our plots. The name Pickseti came from wanting something that sounded like it belonged to the land. We are just local people trying to make a living. It gets dusty and hot, but that’s just the way it is in the 431113 area. We are usually there from early morning until the sun goes down.
