Payals Parlours

Payals Parlours is on Dastur Meher Road in the Camp area of Pune. Camp has a different feel compared to the rest of the city. It’s a bit more open, and you see all kinds of people here. Our place is on a street that gets quite a lot of traffic. We’ve been here long enough that we know the other shop owners on Dastur Meher Road. The morning usually starts with the sounds of the city waking up. We get our supplies organized and make sure the mirrors are clean. It’s a straightforward setup. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. We just focus on the work at hand. Whether it’s a quick trim or something else, we just get on with it. The afternoon sun can be quite strong on this road, so we have some curtains to keep the heat out. We get a mix of people coming in, some who are just passing through Camp and others who live right around the corner. We don't really do any promotion. People just find us. The floor is usually covered in bits of hair by mid-afternoon, so we keep the broom handy. It’s a busy life, but we like being in this part of Pune. Dastur Meher Road is a good place to be. We just keep doing our thing, day after day, without making much of a fuss.
