Patni

The office for Patni is located in the Swastee Shree Building, which is part of the Shardashree Society in Pune. It’s a pretty standard building, the kind you see all over this part of the city. We are at 35 5, and it’s a space that has seen a lot of use over the years. The floor tiles are a bit worn down in the spots where the chairs roll around, and the cupboards are usually overflowing with miscellaneous things we might need one day. Working in Pune means we are used to the rhythm of the city, the way the traffic picks up in the evening and the way the rain sounds on the roof during the monsoon. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who show up every morning and get through the list of things that need doing. It’s not a place with a lot of decorations or fancy art on the walls. Mostly, we just have calendars and a few old photos pinned up. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which is fine. We know the neighbors in the society, and we say hi when we see them in the parking lot. It’s a very grounded way to work. We just stay focused on the tasks at hand and try to keep things moving along without making too much of a fuss.
